Day” concert on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. Atwater-Donnelly, the lively
T
and loving husband-wife duo of Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly, weave their Irish/Celtic/American traditional and original songs, tunes, dances, and poetry into a unique “almost Valentines Day” concert. They are known for their
gorgeous and unusual vocal harmonies, whether unaccompanied or with guitar, mandolin, tin whistle, harmonica, banjo, mountain dulcimer, bones, spoons and limberjacks.
Appalachian clog dancing, French Canadian footwork – even a bit of Irish step and tap dancing – is typically part of their show.
Their playful stage banter reflects
their long loving relationship, making them a natural for our “almost Valentines Day” concert. An Atwater-Donnelly performance appeals to all ages. It includes plenty of humor, audience participation, even some insights into song origins their cultural history. Based in Foster, Rhode Island,
Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly have traveled extensively for twenty-four years in the United States, Ireland, England, and Canada, to perform as well as find their songs and dances one by one. They have produced six books, a film, and twelve recordings that receive international airplay. The concert will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Society Meetinghouse on Porter Lake Drive in Springfield. Tickets are $15 at the door. For more information, please call (413) 562-3990.

Springfield Cemetery and Crematory
Established in 1841, historical Springfield Cemetery was one of the first non-profit, non-sectarian cemeteries in Western Massachusetts and considered one of the most beautiful in
New England. Established in 1910, our crematory was the first in all of Western Massachusetts, an area we continue to serve to this day. The urn garden was intro- duced twenty years ago. Within the urn garden is a scattering garden section for the scattering of cremated remains. This section is called,”The Garden of Meditation.” There is a large bronze scroll set in a granite foundation within the scattering garden where the name, year of birth and death can be added. Burial lots are available in select locations throughout the cemetery. We are prepared to sit down with you to explain any questions you may have or you may call or write, for our brochure.
