This month we shine the Female Focus spotlight on Amanda Dean.
Amanda Dean Javea’s Golden Girl is back! Amanda has been very well known on the Costa Blanca for many years as an outstandingly talented actress and singer and as a local politician.
She is most recognised for playing the role of “ EVITA” at the Benidorm Palace and her one woman show Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Tell me on a Sunday”. Amanda has also worked in Radio and T.V and has produced and directed shows. She is also known for sharing her skills as a teacher, mentoring young people in music, singing and other subjects in schools on the Costa.
We are delighted that Amanda is now back after leaving us for two years. Amanda began her raise to fame here at the Moli Blanc where she appeared in Caberet astride a
Harley Davidson Motorbike singing the great showstopper from “ Whistle Down the Wind - Tyre Tracks and Broken Hearts” those who were there have never forgotten it!
She then went on to produce and perform for the inauguration of the Casa de Cultura in Javea in the “Hot Hot Show” under the musical directorship of her life long friend, musician Roger Dean, together they
set new standards of professionalism here. She subsequently made regular appearances directing young choirs at the International Festival which she was instrumental in establishing in Javea more than ten years ago!
She also gave many personal professional cabaret appearances with Roger Dean including her highly successful “Imitations of Hollywood Women” which included fantastic renditions of Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe and many others. Amanda was also an elected councillor on Javea town council for six years representing the ex-pats and working for the environment.
We look forward to her musical performances in the not too distant future and we are delighted that she is back.
