Going Out - Page 47
I check the fridge to see what we’re running out of, throw some clothes into the washing machine, and sweep up the ‘carpet’ of dog hair before marching along the road to the local shops. I could take the car, but need to avail myself of free exercise whenever I can, not to mention fresh air. Time is no longer my biggest enemy when it comes to getting things done. It is motivation that I sometimes struggle to harness. However, time is, of course, the enemy of most when it waves the ageing process over your head.
The shadow by my finger cast Divides the future from the past. Behind its unreturning line, The vanished hour, no longer thine.
Before it lies the unknown hour, In darkness and beyond thine power. One hour alone is in thine hands, The now on which the shadow stands.
Poem by Hyrum W Smith inscribed on a sundial at Wellesley College (USA)
So, enjoy the ‘now’, I say. Don’t save up your wishes for a rainy day. There will be enough of those for sure, but in the mean time, live a little, keep moisturising and moderating or whatever makes you feel less guilty….but ENJOY the zone you are in. Tomorrow there will be another wrinkle, another grey hair….but don’t let them spoil today.
Life is for living, love and laughter. The most important, I think, is laughter. P

Teulada – Moraira Lions Club Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation to Millie Munro
[
Last month Lion President Dr. Nico Dekkers was pleased to present a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Teulada – Moraira Lions to Millie Munro of Millie Munro Services. Millie has embarked on a project to collect much needed non perishable foodstuffs and clothing on behalf of families in need in the local area. A very significant number of boxes of food were collected from Millie’s office by Lions from the Teulada – Moraira Lions club, and this was
passed on to Caritas who distributed it to local families over the Christmas and New Year period. Millie intends to continue with this much needed project and donations are welcomed at her office in Benitachell. The photo shows left to right: Lion President Dr. Nico Dekkers, Lion Mick Dunn, Lion Richard Berkley, Millie Munro, Lion John Evans. To find out more about the Lions go to
