Last thing on my list of importance and the most important thing. PLEASE treat your palms - do not hesitate to act, if you have a palm tree it needs treating by whatever means. We are trying to have a massive campaign to protect the palms from the weevil, and if you do not protect your palm it will be under massive attack this year.
It is very important as this year will see a massive spread of the weevil so let’s make it as uncomfortable and difficult as possible by treating your palms and the setting out of traps to catch them and help prevent further breeding.
PLEASE also think of your neighbours and communities on the whole, everyone should look after their palms if they have them for the benefit of everyone on the whole coast. Even if you do not care about your palm dying at least get some insecticide to kill the larvae within your palm to help prevent them from spreading more.
We will be selling appropriate chemicals and traps from our garden centre Flores at the Iron Art Site in Gata De Gorgos and to order. We are also available via email to help with any questions you have so you really have no excuse.
