We cannot go back in our lives and relive the periods that we think we could have done better but it is never to late to have dreams. Never to late to seize the moment and rekindle the dreams from the past or to create new dreams that we may aspire to. Just do it!
Don’t waste your life thinking about it. There are seven days in the week, none are named “Someday”. Living a dream can be exciting like a little fire in your heart. The world seems to be a better place when you have a dream, a dream that inspires you in your quiet moments, in your private thoughts.
Young people have many dreams, often believing that their dreams will come true at some time in the future “Someday”.
When teaching under privileged teenagers in the UK, I would often marvel at their dreams and hope that a few would come true for them. Some did!
Like, the boy who always arrived late; bedraggled and tired from his morning work on the markets. One day he told me his dream was to own a ‘Jaguar Car’.
At the time it seemed unlikely but a few years later he waved and shouted, “Hello Miss” from the open car window, as he proudly drove past.
Then there was the quiet, gentle lad who aspired to be a ‘Marine’. One evening while out with friends; a tap on my shoulder, I turned and there stood a smart young man in uniform. Big dreams or small, no-matter… all dreams make life just that little bit more interesting and worth living. Why do people become uninspired and let their dreams drift away? Just everyday living!
Many of us leave our dreams behind when we marry, have children and settle into domestic life. In the need to survive and earn a living, dreams may be forced to take second place. Life can be tough; to continue to pursue a dream often becomes too difficult so we let it go! To push our dreams aside and skate through life is much easier. That’s okay, if you are content!
But if you need more, ask yourself, ”What puts fire in your heart”?
We have all had new goals in life, started hobbies, diets, workouts etc.
None of which have lingered long.
Something else requires our attention, the dream floats away and ‘everyday living’ creeps in.
What is your dream? Is there something you are “dying to do”?
It is never too late unless you wait for “Someday”.
When you have a dream you will go to sleep with your dream in mind and wake to new day, looking to make the dream come true.
Dream is not an object or a thing. Dream is something to strive for, to achieve. Dream is exciting… Dream brings a spark into your life.
