IMPORTANT WORKS OF ART
Galleries of 20th-Century Hungarian Art can be seen at Four Seasons Gresham Palace. They are displayed on the guest room floors. The first and fourth floors display the Geometric and Monochrome serigraph collections of Janos Fajo (born 1937), one of Hunga- ry’s most revered living artists, whose works are also housed in the Hungarian National Gallery. Fajo was a student of Lajos Kassák (1881–1967), whose rare Constructivist serigraphs are shown on the third floor of the Hotel. Throughout the 1920s, he led a group of exiled artists and intellectuals in Vienna, and re- mained an artistic activist upon his return to Budapest.
GEORGE V PARIS, FRANCE
Situated just steps from Steps to Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and Eiffel Tower, this stunning hotel, now officially awarded the Palace rating by French tourism authorities. This distinction recognises their dedication and hard work in making Four Seasons Hotel George V one of the top hotels in the world since its reopening under the Four Sea- sons banner in 1999. Filled with Classical French fur- nishings (Louis XVI, Napoleon I), 17th-century Flemish tapestries, 18th-century Florentine chandeliers , the hotel is also beautifully scented. Even before they en- ter the Hotel, a scent envelopes guests. Inside, bold floral statements set against classic architecture cre- ate a look that is the signature of Four Seasons Ho- tel George V and its Artistic Director, Jeff Leatham.
Leatham has lovingly dressed the grande dame of av- enue George V in an abundance of fresh blooms. Nine thousand are shipped in from the Netherlands each week and artfully displayed in oversized glass bowls and vases.
