Heritage Christian School Colla Vocé
Colla Vocé has been in existence since 2004 and is recognized as one of Indiana’s finest high school concert repertoire choirs.
All
members are chosen by audition and grades 9 through 12 are represented.

Colla Voce’ in
performance, with a focus on glorifying Christ through song, which has been
displayed to audiences around the country. For the sixth consecutive year, Colla Voce’ has represented Heritage at the ISSMA State Choir Finals; four times has placed in the top five, and in 2010 was named State Runner-Up. The choir has performed with artists and celebrities Carmen D’Arcy, Sandi Patty, Mike Huckabee, and Miss America 2009, Katie Stam. Colla Voce’ is honored to share its message through song and choral excellence at the IMEA conference.
Director:
Michael Hummel has been the choral director at Heritage Christian School since 2003. His current responsibilities include directing five choirs with students in grades 5-12. Originally from Washington state, Michael earned his B.S. in K-12 Vocal and Instrumental Music Education from Bob Jones University in 1997, and his M.M.E. from Anderson Unviersity in 2009. Michael has served on the ISSMA Concert Organization board and currently is the Indiana Repertoire and Standards Chair for High School Choirs. The vision for the future of the choral music department at Heritage Christian School is to continue to elevate students to perform at a level of higher musicianship, to showcase their talent and love of music through opportunities in performance, and to spread the message of Christ through song. Michael and his wife Lissa reside in Pendleton along with their son Nathan and new baby girl Audrey.
