Tengowski, Richard
Richard Tengowski is Director of Bands for the School District of Kohler, WI where he teaches elementary, middle and high school concert bands, jazz ensemble, pep band and secondary general music. He received a B.M. in Music Education from St. Norbert
College and M.M. from Northwestern University. He is the current President of the Wisconsin Music Educators Association and has taken leadership roles with the Wisconsin Advocates for Music Education, Wisconsin Comprehensive
Musicianship through Performance
Project, Wisconsin and the Challenging Content Standards Task Force in developing standards for the state of Wisconsin. His work has been published in Shaping Sound Musicians as well as several NAfME publications. Mr. Tengowski is an active speaker, master adjudicator, guest artist and conductor.
Weldy, Pete
Pete Weldy is a senior at Butler University, where he is studying choral music education. He hails from Rossville. Originally a political science major, Pete saw the light, turned to music education, and has been at Butler since 2009. In 2010, he was elected to
represent college students as a member of the IMEA Board, and in 2011, he was chosen to be NAfME’s North Central Division Collegiate Representative. He graduates in December of 2012 with a B.M.E. and a history minor. He hopes to teach middle school.
Zegree, Steve
Bobby McFerrin Distinguished Professor of Jazz and Director of Gold Company, Western Michigan University, and internationally recognized as one of the most respected vocal jazz conductors and educators in the world, Steve Zegree is also active as a
pianist, conductor, clinician and adjudicator. A renowned educator, his students are among today’s teachers in jazz and pop performance,
Broadway, recording studio
production, writing, arranging, singing and music education. His internationally acclaimed vocal jazz ensemble, Gold Company has won numerous “Outstanding Performance” awards from Down Beat magazine. Dr. Zegree auditioned, arranged for and rehearsed Nick Lachey’s “Team Lachey”, the winning choir on NBC’s Clash of the Choirs.
