Dye, Sarah Burk
Dr. Sarah Burk Dye is Acting Chair of Fine Arts at Martin University in Indianapolis, where she teaches Music History and language courses. She is an active musician in the Indianapolis area and performs with the Indiana Wind Symphony. Dr. Dye previously
taught clarinet and Music History at Indiana State University, and was a member of the ISU Faculty Woodwind Quintet. She has performed with the Illinois Symphony, Terre Haute Symphony, and performed the Copland Concerto with the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra. She is also a Conn-Selmer Leblanc artist. Dr. Dye completed her D.M.A. in Clarinet Performance with a minor in Musicology, graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana- Champaign. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Cincinnati College – Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from the University of Michigan.
Ester, Don
Don Ester, professor and area coordinator of music education, joined the Ball State University School of Music faculty in the fall of 1992. A 1980 graduate of Illinois Wesleyan University, he holds an M.M. from Southern Methodist University and a Ph.D. from the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Ester has taught in the public schools and has served as a full-time church musician. His present responsibilities at Ball State include serving as chair of the music education area and teaching undergraduate and graduate music education courses. A frequent guest conductor, his research interests include music literacy pedagogy, the adolescent voice, and instructional strategies. He is a past National Chair of the Society for Music Teacher Education.
Farah, Marianna
Marianna Farah received her Bachelor of Music from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas. In Brazil, she worked for the Universidade de São Paulo as the conductor of Grupo Lauda and Canto do Campus. Marianna received her master’s degree in
choral conducting from the University of Iowa and her doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. At UMKC, she became the conductor and founder of Bella Voce, which performed at the 2007 MMEA Convention and the 2008 Southwestern Division of the ACDA Convention. Farah is the Director of Choral Activities at Indiana University Southeast. She is also a frequent guest clinician for choral festivals in Brazil and in the U.S., and serves as the R&S Chair for Ethnic and Multicultural Perspectives for ICDA.

Finger, Susan
Sue Finger is a Past President of IMEA and currently serves as chair for Beginning and Developing Music Teachers. She is Artistic Director of the Anderson Area Children’s Choir and Youth Chorale and conducts the Youth Chorale. She retired from public
school teaching in June 2011, after 34 years of teaching middle school band and choir, during which she received numerous awards for her teaching. She has supervised many student teachers and field experiences,
and
continues to supervise student teachers for Anderson University.
Foreman, Gregory
Gregory Foreman holds a Certificate of Piano Performance, Bachelor of Music Education, Master of Arts in Teaching, and has completed forty-five
post-graduate
hours in instructional technology integration. He has served as the Lead for the Lee’s Summit’s Elementary Music
Department, “Music in Education” Keyboard facilitator, mentor teacher, professional staff development affiliate, technology team chairman, building web manager, adjudicator, and director of various children’s choirs.
Frederick, Rebecca Colborg
Rebecca Colborg Frederick holds a Bachelor of Music in violin performance from Texas Christian University, and a Master of Music in violin performance and pedagogy from The University of Houston; she is currently a doctoral student at the Indiana University
Jacobs School of Music. She is assistant director of the Fairview Violin Project through Indiana University and teaches elementary strings for Monroe County Community School Corporation. She has taught previously as an associate instructor at IU Jacobs School of Music, as well as violin and flute in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston areas.
Fritz, Samuel
Samuel Fritz is currently Director of Bands at Center Grove Middle School Central in Greenwood. In that role, he teaches concert bands, pep band, jazz band, chamber music ensembles, and assists with the nationally recognized
Center Grove High School
Marching Trojans. Mr. Fritz is a 1997 graduate of Indiana State University where he earned bachelor’s degrees in music education and saxophone performance. In 2001 Mr. Fritz received his master’s degree in music education from Bowling Green State University.
