FEATURED WINE SUMMER 2008

2006 RED4 – Huerhuero – Paso Robles RED4

is a fruit-forward blend of four varietals—Petite Sirah, Syrah, Tannat

and Touriga, all from our estate Huerhuero Vineyard. This unconventional union creates a wine that is both delicious and distinctive, and which is priced for everyday enjoyment. The varietal blocks were harvested separately from late September through late October. After fermentation, the lots were aged for 13 months in French oak barrels, with a small percentage aged in American oak barrels for added dimension. We are pleased to announce that this wine has received numerous accolades. Wine competition results are starting to be released and the RED4

has already garnered two gold medals!

Tasting and Pairing Notes RED4

marries the firm structure of Petite Sirah, the spicy cherry qualities

of Syrah, the underlying depth of Tannat and the floral violet notes of Touriga. The 2006 vintage offers intense aromas of plum, violets, crushed raspberry and spice. The palate bursts with fresh, high-toned flavors of blackberry, cherry and pomegranate with hints of crushed raspberry and cola. This wine is an excellent match for summer barbecue fare, as well as roast chicken and zesty red pastas.

Vineyards Our Huerhuero Vineyard unfolds along high rolling hills at the eastern border of Paso Robles. This vineyard’s shifting soils and microclimates enable us to match a versatile lineup of varietals to specific blocks and conditions. Each portion of the vineyard is influenced in varying degrees by the infusion of cool coastal air that flows through the Templeton Gap, a notch in the coastal mountains. This influence lengthens the growing season for added complexity and balance.
