Acting Through Song with Bill Reed
A boot camp for theatrical singers, this week-long intensive addresses vocal and acting techniques through group and individual activities. Participants learn and practice the classical, Broadway “legit,” and belting techniques used in contemporary Broadway productions and dive into authentic song interpretation. Discover the power of acting through song! Class may decide to share work with family and friends at week’s end.

Please submit resume or description of vocal/ theatrical experience for instructor approval, and bring sheet music to a memorized Broadway song.
Jazz Improvisation: Making it Work for You! with George Voland
Musicians of all kinds improvise: jazz, of course, but also rock, blues, folk, and classical; even Bach improvised! This group focuses on the art of improvisation: creating original melodies on the spot, using jazz chords as our harmonic guide. Learn how to make improvisation effective and enjoyable for you, your fellow musicians, and your listeners. Plus, play in a combo setting with like-minded folks who may become your future jam partners! We recommend at least one year of experience on your instrument.

Latin Jazz Music & Hand Percussion with Arturo O’Farrill & Jazzismo
Join the students in our Summertime Jazz program for the afternoon music workshops with or without the morning cultural immersion class. Full program may be taken for college credit through UVM or non-credit through FlynnArts.
