Clows Top and District Gardening Club: Brian Draper will give a talk entitled 'Elgar's Countryside' on Wednesday January 25th at Clows Top Victory Hall. Doors open 7.45pm, speaker 8pm. Eastham Garden Club is holding a talk, with colour slides, about gardens in Herefordshire, on January 24th. Alun and Jill Whitehead, from Aulden Farm, near Leominster, hold the National Collection of Siberian Iris and also concentrate on hardy plants suitable for clay soils. Plant stall, swap area, members' forum, refreshments and an ideas box for possible future speakers or improvements to Meetings. 7pm for 7.30pm at Eastham Memorial Hall, £2.50 on the door.
Olympic Torch
The Olympic Torch is set to pass through our area on May 24th, on its way from Ledbury to Worcester via Hereford, Ludlow, Clee Hill, Cleobury Mortimer, Bewdley and Droitwich. The flame will pass through more than 1,000 villages, towns and cities before reaching the Olympic Stadium on July 27th. Helen Cleaver, from Little Witley, will carry the Torch during the Coventry to Birmingham leg on July 1st.
