Auctioneer Nick Champion reported a "fantastic trade throughout all sections" at his final seasonal sheep sale at Worcester Road, Burford, Tenbury Wells, on Saturday, 10th December and added "1085 Store and Butchers’ lambs and Cull Ewes were forward and the recent lift in the slaughter trade has seen the stores go through the roof with our trade again well above reports from local centres."
Sale Highlights were Store Lambs to £100 to average £73.76, Butchers’ Lambs to £111.50 to average £88.51 and Cull Ewes to £155 to average £75.60
Store Lambs - 674
In the show section judge Dick Pepper awarded the prize for the best pen to Suffolk x from T. & P.W. Richards, Clifton upon Teme which made £90.50. Top head price was £100 on two occasions for Texels from D.E. Ayres & Co. and Suffolk x from J.A. Evans. Strong stores sold from £85.50 to £100, medium from £75.50 to £82.50, small from £62 to £75, and minis from £50 to £60.50.

Top head price was £111.50 for 58kg Charollais x from M. Cramp
Cull Ewes, Rams & Wethers - 266
In the show section judge Roy Palmer made the following awards:
Best pen of Suffolk x ewes - E.H. Handley & Sons, Sutton - £134.50. Best pen of white-faced ewes - C.T. Whiteman, Stoke St Milborough - £90. Best pen of Mule ewes - A. Rogers & Partners, Sutton - £110. Top head price was £155 for a Beltex ewe from Robert Skyrme, Richards Castle
