RELIGIOUS and MORAL EDUCATION The RME department have 2 main trips this year.


The first trip was in October to the Buddhist monastery Samye Ling. S4-S6 pupils were able to experi- ence the religion of Buddhism first hand by talking to Monks, Nuns, experience meditation sessions and have a guided tour of the grounds. Please see the pictures below.


The second trip will take place in February 2012: S1 pupils will be going to Mary King‟s Close. Mary King‟s Close is a hidden Close of Old Town Edinburgh which has many myths and mysteries surrounding tales of ghosts and murders. The trip was so popular that we are trying to organise another visit for the following week.


S2 – Moderator‟s Medal competition S2 pupils will take part in a competition starting in January surrounding the 2012 London Olympics.


Pupils will be working as part of a group to create a piece of work surrounding themes from the Olym- pics such as cooperation, achievement, fair play, peace, competition and hard work. Winners receive £100 prize & runners up £25.


S4-S6 pupils – Intermediate 2 and Higher


With the prelims fast approaching, please make sure your son/daughter is revising at home and is fully prepared for the prelims in the new year.
