Chung Family Visits the Museum

Have you walked by Stonewaters Home Elements lately? Did you know that store used to be the family owned grocery store Marra’s? Did you know even before that, in the early days of Canmore, it was a grocery store called C.T. Singh? It was owned by four Chinese men, one of them by the name of Jim Chung. His 73 year old daughter, her two daughters, and granddaughter all recently visited the Museum this past September, looking for information on a man they barely knew. They were so happy to see his picture up in a display about Chinese history in Canmore.

Do you know more about the Chung family, or other Chinese histories in Canmore?
