Form an activities group to be responsible for developing more events and activities in the twin towns to attract passing through ferry passengers e.g:
Outdoor activities on water and land. Sand whale building competitions. Increase in sporting/leisure activities. More play provision for young children.
Refurbish Ysgol Bro Gwaun Hall, especially improve acoustics for events.
Form an enhancement group to look at how to make Fishguard and Goodwick more inviting:
Give towns a facelift
Work with Civic Society to set up a grant scheme to award the best looking shop with £250/£500. Develop Goodwick seafront to look more attractive. Erect a bandstand for Goodwick Brass Band.
Environment, Energy & Recycling Commentary:
The landscape in Fishguard, Goodwick and surrounding area is very diverse and varied. Both towns are located on the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast which was voted second best by National Geographic experts in 2010. Fishguard stands on an imposing headland commanding breathtaking views of the bay and provides many superb walks including the Marine Walk, the land adjoining which is also an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), which has recently been upgraded, and has outstanding coastal views. Goodwick is located next to Goodwick Moor with its 15 acres of reedbed, flood plain mire, scrub, and a complex network of ditches. The moor is a Nature Reserve and designated as a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) which lies between two streams, and water levels
