“this little gem of a coastal town is full of secret hideaways. it was a real eye opener for me to hunt down and photograph the special places called pocket parks,” photographer Glenn Dubock reports. “each has its own personality, its own story. Just like the fine people of the Carpinteria Valley.” readers most likely have seen Glenn wandering around Carpinteria with camera in hand, taking pictures every chance he gets.

Lindsey eltinge loved every bite of the photo shoot for the reyes market story. She decided her “favorite meal was the shrimp cocktail. it was fun to be in the kitchen. all of the food was being cooked like a home- cooked meal.” Known for her food photography, her commercial work appears in regional magazines and in the book “Chef in the Vineyard.”
Photographer Fran Collin loved working with legend of screen and soaps, Susan Flannery, and Barnaby Conrad of pen and brush fame. He also thanks amateur astronomer ed edwards for bringing different kinds of stars to this issue of Carpinteria magazine.

Photographer Lindsey ross hails from the great state of ohio. She spent some time in Wyoming before moving to California, where she is working toward a master’s of fine arts degree at Brooks institute.

Who knew the cute and cuddly alpaca is an ungulate? not Jesse Groves, who makes his home in Carpinteria. in addition to his commercial photography, the Brooks institute graduate directs a gallery for his alma mater, where he also is pursuing a master’s of fine arts.
Liz muraoka’s first SLr camera in high school led to decades of capturing life’s moments and memories in photos, not only her own, but eventually for others as well. Photographing Carpinteria’s antique shops was a delight with their colorful and whimsical displays, filled with diverse collections of thoughtfully selected items that capture memories of times past.
ted rhodes
ted rhodes, writer/photographer/ musician, moved to Carpinteria in 1985. His work in Hollywood as a key grip includednational Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Beetlejuice. ted devotes his energies to Carpinteria and South Coast images and critical community issues. His photographs have appeared in local, regional and national publications.
ryan hawk
Former Coastal View news photographer ryan Hawk learned his craft on the corner of Carpinteria and Linden avenues. “the characters who came out to protest the potential war in iraq, or protest the protesters, were an animated bunch to say the least,” noted Hawk, who now shoots video and photos of animals all day at Seattle’s Woodland Park Zoo.
