Youth Magic Class @ Rose After School Sports @ Rose


The South Barrington Park District offers after school sports for children at Rose School. Choose basketball, dodgeball or both to stay active this winter!


Children should wear non-marking athletic shoes and should bring a water bottle each week. Class will not be held March 28.

The South Barrington Park District can help your troop earn badges, patches and skills in water safety, CPR, fi rst aid and more. Available times are Tuesdays after 5:15pm, or Thursdays after 4:00pm, from September through April. The fee is just $5 per person if at least one member of your troop is a South Barrington resident or club member, and $8 per person for non-resident groups. After skills are learned, open swim may follow if time allows.

Wilderness Training Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts are invited to join these American Red


Cross training sessions to gain the preparedness skills needed to enjoy the scouting camp experience.

LEGO Mindstorms @ Rose Robotic Invention System

Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn a collection of fascinating and mesmerizing tricks from the Magic Team of Gary Kantor! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. All materials are provided, and each child will receive a magic kit to take home.

Learn mechanical design, construction, programming and team- work skills. Students build different robots and program them with a laptop computer to move, react and make sounds to solve chal- lenges. Class is a good introduction for kids interested in robotics competitions such as FIRST LEGO league. Participants will work in groups and will not get to take the robot home at the conclusion

Picasso’s Workshop @ Rose Drawing, Painting and Sculpture


Students get creative with different materials! In this course, the young artist discovers new possibilities by mixing media using varied drawing and painting techniques. Express yourself with watercolor, acrylic, ink, pastel and clay. The use of different materials will give dimension, texture and vitality to the student’s work. All sessions incorporate Scholastic Art Lesson Plans and are taught by published artists and certifi ed teachers. All supplies
