Meet the new

bobby on the beat T

he new year will see a new face joining the village‘s police team.

PC Paul Beecher begins his work in the village

this month and is looking forward to the challenges which await him. The father-of-two who previously worked in St

Albans for 20 years told My Abbots News a bit more about himself. He said: ―After two decades in one town I decided it was time for a change. I didn‘t know much about Abbots Langley before joining the team here. ―I didn‘t even know there was a police station

here to be honest. ―Abbots is a quieter place than what I‘ve been

used to with a low crime rate. I know there are some issues with local youths hanging around shops and that‘s something I‘ll be looking to deal with. ―I‘m keen to meet people and look forward to

getting to know much more about the village and the residents who live here. I‘ve already met a couple of business owners and have had a warm welcome.‖

PC Paul Beecher PC Beecher, 49, added: ―I love the variety

which police work offers. You never know what will happen next.‖ Away from his job PC Beecher relaxes by

playing poker, golf and snooker. He replaces PC Louise Hendry.
