For over 80 years, The Cavalier hotel has helped make Virginia Beach famous. Founded in 1927, it has attracted a wide range of guests and celebrities, including Dwight D. Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, and five other U.S. Presidents. On Memorial Day in 1929, the Cavalier Beach Club opened for the first time, and was the forerunner of all beach clubs. For the next three decades, The Cavalier was the largest hirer of big bands in the world.


Today, the iconic Cavalier consists of two hotels: the original Georgian-style Cavalier on the Hill and the 11-story Cavalier Oceanfront, combining to offer a total of over 50,000-square feet of flexible meeting space.

Town Center is the cityís downtown area, spanning 17 blocks of shopping, exclu- sive dining and exciting opportunities for nightlife.


For outdoor recreation, the Virginia Beach boasts more than 18,600 acres of state parks and wildlife refuges perfect for hik- ing, biking, canoeing and kayaking. The area also is home to over 121 navigable miles of waterways and 35 miles of ocean and bay beaches, giving visitors a variety


of landscapes for exploring the great out- doors.


Another option for groups is to charter a boat for a day of fishing or embark on a dolphin watching adventure.


Golf enthusiasts can tee off on their choice of 11 local public golf courses with designs by Arnold Palmer, Pete Dye and others.


Of course, there is always the Virginia Beach boardwalk, where visitors can enjoy a stroll or bike ride along its three scenic miles.
