South Jersey Shor Location Reportse WHAT'S NEW
More than a gambling city, Atlantic City is a convention and meetings city, too... as well as a full destination resort. A city where there's always something new and exciting.
Meeting planners will appreciate many of the new developments here, including room renovations, new resorts and a flur- ry of new dining options - all adding to the choices available to exhibitors and attendees.
In the past year, Caesars Atlantic City, the Claridge at Bally's and Borgata have all refurbished their rooms. In addition, Tropicana created 26 Cielo suites, while Trump Marina was purchased and is now the Golden Nugget. The changeover to the Golden Nugget includes approxi- mately $150 million in renovations to the entire property with the refurbishment of
all guest rooms, newly added restau- rants, a redesigned showroom and reno- vated public areas.
Seaview Resort, the venerated historic golf resort in nearby Galloway Township, also recently underwent public space renovations and enhancements.
Looking to the future, Revel Entertainment's new megaresort is expected to open this spring. The $2.4 billion project will include a 30,000- square foot meeting center with 20 meet- ing and boardrooms, a conference regis- tration facility and an integrated business center. Revel will have more than 1,000 guest rooms, multiple showrooms, retail shops, a spa, 12 restaurants, three clubs, a 150,000 square foot casino and some unique social and event spaces.
In addition, the smaller scale Hard Rock Casino is on track to break ground in
mid-2012 on this new Atlantic City casino resort.
Museum on the premises. PLACES TO EAT
Atlantic city's restaurant offerings contin- ue to grow and change, as well.
Harrah's Atlantic City has replaced sever- al of their offerings with popular brands such as Dos Caminos and Bill's Bar and Burger, plus celebrity chef Luke Palladino's elegant new restaurant, called Luke Palladino. Favorites, including McCormick and Schmick's, remain.
At Bally's, the addition of Harry's Oyster Bar and Nanking Asian restaurant have added new dimensions to their dining choices, while Showboat introduced Scarduzzio's Steak and Seafood during the summer.
