Responsible Business Award. Two Carlson hotels were honored with the first ever Carlson Hotels, Americas Responsible Business Award presented during the Global Hotels Business Conference in Washington, DC.

The Responsible Business Award is presented to the hotel that demonstrates extraordinary

standards and recognizes environmental efforts on a property-by-property basis.

The Green Key evaluation is a comprehensive 160-question audit covering a broad range of operational areas and sustainable practices. Based on the resulting tabulations, a property is awarded a ranking of one to five keys and receives a comprehensive performance report. Participating properties are listed on the greenkeyglobal.com website, a valuable resource for environmentally conscious

commitment to Responsible Business through ethical business practices, education, communication, community involvement and environmental responsibility within their brand.

The award was presented to Cindy Boulton, General Manager of the Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport, for the hotel’s Responsible Business achievements. The Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles Airport was selected from among more than 120 Radisson hotels in the Americas.

Leann Shaw-Brotherston, General Manager of the Country inns & Suites Calgary Airport, accepted the Country Inns & Suites award on behalf of her team. “We have always operated under the guiding principle that we need to be good corporate citizens

travelers, and also are recognized through Green Key’s network of marketing partners including AAA, Travelocity and Expedia, among others. The Green Key process also includes random, on-site verification inspections of audit results, mitigating the risk of score inflation.

All of Carlson’s US managed hotels are Green Key certified, and participation overall has doubled since announcing the partnership. Together with other labels, more than 90 hotels have received eco-labels.

and act in a manner that exemplifies ethical business practices, community involvement and environmental protection,” said Shaw-Brotherston.
