Instructors Dazzle During Pilates Showcase
T
he MAC Pilates Committee and Instructors hosted a fabulous evening
on Friday, Oct. 14 in Studio I, featuring a T.E.A.M. Masterclass and a MAC Pilates Instructors’ performance showcasing appa- ratus.
Sixty attendees participated in the multi-level mat workout class featuring new Cardio-Pilates and Esssential MAT/ BOSU Pi-Yo exercises. Six instructors taught various segments of the session to the students.
The event continued with munchies and a no-host bar, prizes, and an advanced Pilates performance on the chair, the V2 Max Reformers and the Cadillac Reformers. Further demonstrations continued in the Pilates Studio across the hall. Members enjoyed exploring new formats and the great staff and new instructors were high- lighted with sparkling performances.

Pilates Master Class with Aline Alexander
More than 60 people attended the first Pilates member enrichment series
class in October, led by guest instructor Aline Alexander of Momentum Studios in Albequerque. This is the first of many planned core enrichment workshops to be offered by Alexander, Pilates Coordinator Cristi Dillon and the Pilates staff. This introductory workshop was free to members and highlighted how to find the deep Pilates core that is crucial to healing low back pain and enhancing overall core stability. The class moved through a series of breath work patterns to promote strength, balance and mobility of the deep abdominal and spinal muscles.
Aline and Bryan Alexander are pioneers of one of the most successful Pilates Teacher Training programs in the U.S., and are coming back to the MAC in April 2012 to continue our own MAC Teacher Certification and MAC Member Core Enrichment series.
