“While you were here, I

Checkups and medicines are hard to acquire. Not all of them can afford prescribed medicines. One of the wonderful things that
happened this year to this mission was the visit of the BMMI medical team, under the leadership of Dr. Ralph Izard. We had learned about him through Missionary Filomeno Kakilala, who helped us start this mission. Te governor of Chuuk State and the director of the hospital welcomed the medical team with gladness in their hearts. Tey were thankful that a group of Christians came and helped the poor community of Chuuk State. Great things were done. Many were treated and received free medical examinations. Te BMMI team provided not just the medicines, but also helped out with other health issues. Te Gospel was shared, and approximately 200 people were saved while waiting for their turn to be examined by the doctors. Many of those who were thankful and blessed came to join us in our worship service on Sunday. A testimony was expressed by one
of the members of the mission. Mrs. Gardenia Aisek Macayaon said, “I saw Dr. Diana Adams administering her checkup to one of the locals without gloves and touching their bodies looking for any signs of disease or sickness. Dr. Adams
did not exhibit any boundary between herself and the local people. I was greatly astonished and surprised that someone like her would do that. It’s only because of the love of God that she did this.” My personal observation was that the Director of BMMI, Dr. Ralph Izard, even though he is a retired physician, still serves the Lord and offers free medical care to those in need. We were amazed that he travels every month to different parts of the world serving those in need of competent medical care. In addition, Jim Brewer, also a retiree but still a very strong Christian man, serves the Lord with BMMI as a testimony of his desire to help people in the name of Christ. One member of our mission, Mr. Louie Macayaon, commented, “Many people come to Chuuk to enjoy themselves, but the BMMI team came to Chuuk to give joy! Te medical team was truly a blessing and example that we, the Christian community, should do more for Christ and for the Chuuk State community.” n

To the BMMI team….from Remy Bulahabo
“Thank you so much for coming to Chuuk State, Micronesia. We do hope and pray that you will come back next year to do more great things for the Lord. Thank you for all your prayers as we follow up with those who received Christ and those who decided to follow the Lord in baptism. I am so happy for the support of my family and that my two children were challenged to serve the Lord faithfully. My son, who leads the youth in our mission, and my daughter who is a nurse, determined to more greatly serve Him by helping the children in the pediatric ward. My wife, who works faithfully in Sunday School and with the choir and is a full-time teacher in a Christian school, was greatly blessed by your presence and encouragement. While you were here, I imagined how Jesus helped the sick during His time on earth. I even questioned myself as to whether I have done enough for these people. The Lord gave me the desire to keep on until the day I see Him face to face, and to serve Him faithfully as I reach out to more souls for Him.
“May the Lord bless the BMMI and may His grace abound in you. You not only help the sick, but you also encourage and inspire Christians around the world. God bless your ministry!”
