Church planters use medical care and English training to make inroads for the Gospel in an area that’s inviting to tourists but not to Christ.

Because the team had demonstrated care and concern for them first by providing for their medical needs, many were much more willing to hear about the spiritual healing that Christ brings. While the team was only in the country for a week, the effects of their service will be felt for much longer. Another method of outreach is English

services. Because of the tourism industry in this area of Southeast Asia, there is a high demand for workers who can speak English. Many people, however, cannot afford an English language course. Our goal is to open an English center in September 2012 that would provide English grammar classes at a reduced cost and English conversation with native English speakers for free. Tis type of course would allow us repeated access

to many people in the city. Te goal is to build deep relationships with the people and, by first allowing them to see Christ in our daily lives, share the Gospel with them. It will take this type of relationship building along with the work of the Holy Spirit to gain influence in their lives so that we may effectively share God’s Word with them. Our goal is that we would be able to

start a small group Bible study with new believers. Tis is vital to help them become rooted in God’s Word and their faith. We hope to provide support and guidance as they begin their new life with Christ and as members of His church. From this small group, we hope to be able to identify those whom God has giſted with the talent of leadership. We would like to enroll these members into

a Church Planter Training Program with Bro. Dan*, a church planter from the Philippines. Our vision is to identify and train local believers and send them out to other cities and islands. Trough God working in national workers who are sharing with their own people, we pray to see this nation become a nation for Christ. Please continue to pray for the work

God is doing in Southeast Asia. Pray for the opening of the English Center and Training Program here. But most importantly pray that God would work in the hearts of the people here to help them understand His love and desire for a personal relationship with them. n
