enjoy revisiting the cars you drove as a kid. Reminisce about your fi rst kiss at the drive- in or the pride you felt cruising down main street in your new wheels. Feel that sense of excitement as you headed for the drag strip rather than the library where you should have been. What fascinating stories these cars could tell. Come see them all on Sunday afternoon, February 19, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Chat with the owners about the history of the car. Bring your camera; wear your fi nest 1950s attire and have your picture taken standing by the car. Send it to your grandchildren with a story about your youth. They’d love it. Car show directors are Jim and Vicki McClellan. If you wish to include your old car in the show, call Jo P at 895-0185. She will be happy to reserve a spot for you. Enjoy a fun-fi lled afternoon while

savoring a juicy hamburger at the Doo Wop Kick Off BBQ. Meander among the artwork at the Art Mart, then go kick up your heels

as Barry Ediss spins your favorite tunes of the 1950s and 60s at the Street Dance. Of course you must wear white-soled tennis shoes just as you did at the “Soc Hops” in the gymnasium. Come hang out, meet the cast and crew of the Doo Wop show and get to know your Sun Lakes neighbors. If you are interested in selling your artwork at the Art Mart, call Jo B at 802-2214. All of these activities will be located

in the parking lot between the Oakwood Ballroom and Tennis Center. The only cost is for the BBQ, which includes a burger, chips and water or soda for $5. BBQ tickets will be pre-sold and can be purchased at the same time and locations as the Doo Wop Show tickets. Look for the BBQ ticket table and bring cash please. Don’t forget, Doo Wop show ticket

sales begin January 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood Ballroom. The cost is $15 a ticket, cash or check made out to Doo Wop. This is a benefi t for the Sun Lakes Fire Department. Thanks for your support. 
