GFWC Windham Woman’s Club Holiday Project for Needy Families


submitted by Ruth Coole A wonderful tradition began in 1994 and continues. The GFWC Windham Woman’s Club Christmas Families Project entered it’s 17th


year.


The names of the families are given in a confidential manner, and a list of needed items is provided to the club. Kathy Davis, Human Resources Director for the town provides us with the families. Only a portion of the funds for the gift purchases is from club budget; much of the money comes directly from members, a heartwarming feeling of giving of ones self that exhibits the true spirit of the holidays. Gifts and wrapping are sorted and delivered. Chairman of project is Ruth Alexander and co-chair is Rosemary Pothier.
