Where to Stay

‘Buzzing’Brighton If you are looking for somewhere that is quirky, fun and relaxed then ‘buzzing’ Brighton is the place to go…..

After all the stresses and strains of the working week, my husband and I couldn’t wait to pack up the car, drop off our gorgeous puppy Alfie at my mums and get on our way to sunny Brighton, where we could let our hair down and enjoy a fun-filled weekend away! We were greeted at the Thistle Brighton by what I can only describe as the most helpful concierge I have ever had the pleasure to meet, who guided us to the hotel check-in desk. After check-in, the friendly concierge asked if there was anything in Brighton that I was looking to visit and he was very knowledgeable when telling me the directions to

Choccywoccydoodah - after making my husband watch every episode of the programme with me (and if he is honest he got addicted to it too!), I definitely wasn’t going to miss visiting

Choccywoccydoodah during my short stay in Brighton.

We were really pleased with our beautiful room at the Thistle with views out to the sea and Brighton pier (I could have sat at that window all day- the view was breath-taking). The room was really bright and airy but with a real ‘home’ feel about it. We spent our first day enjoying all the wonderful, quirky shops that Brighton has to offer followed by a wander around the great Brighton Marina - a place I will be sure to visit again.

In the evening, after a lovely meal at one of the many restaurants Brighton has to

offer, my husband and I enjoyed a drink in the

luscious Thistle Hotel reception. The next day we woke up feeling refreshed and ready for our final day in ‘Buzzing Brighton’ (a nickname my husband and I had come to calling Brighton- the place is literally buzzing with a great atmosphere). We really indulged in the vast breakfast that the Thistle had to offer and it gave us a fantastic start to what turned out to be another fun-filled day! First stop of the day was visiting Choccywoccydoodah and walking through the eccentric back lanes of Brighton. We had another fabulous meal back at the Thistle - a heart-warming traditional Sunday roast. To finish our weekend off nicely, we enjoyed some ‘time-out’ on the beach, just sitting and taking in the eclectic atmosphere of Brighton. Since staying at the Thistle only a few weeks ago, I have actually re-visited Brighton as we enjoyed it that much and I can safely say that I will definitely be re-visiting again and again!
