IT TAKES TWO... FOR PHOENIX DOOR PANELS AND PADDOCK – TAKE YOUR PARTNERS!

Phoenix Door Panels, one of the UK’s largest composite door and u-PVC panel manufacturers specialising in the domestic replacement door market, is growing sales of its County Collection Composite Door and Cambridgeshire door panel ranges in new areas through a partnership deal with one its customers, Paddock Door Panels.

The agency agreement with the East Midlands- based business, run by entrepreneur Jayne Moore, is opening up new selling opportunities with mutual benefits for both companies.

Since adding the Phoenix GRP composite doors to her product portfolio, Jayne has steadily grown her business while Phoenix has gained more sales in a previously untapped part of the UK.

“Although PVC-U door panels have always

been very popular in this area, composite doors are rapidly gaining ground; particularly in recent years as they have become more affordable and consumers are generally more aware of them,” explained Jayne, who is based near Nottingham.

“Being involved in the business in a very practical and direct way, I needed a reliable supplier who could take care of the quality and delivery issues. Phoenix provides the back-up I need, allowing me to focus on sales and customer service,” continued Jayne, who also teaches Latin American and Ballroom dancing in her spare time.

For Phoenix, Jayne’s customer base comprising local installers and window companies, both large and small, represents a tailor-made pool of potential new customers.

“When we were looking to expand our composite door sales in the Midlands area, Paddock was the perfect solution to our situation. With Jayne it was a natural partnership,” commented Haydon Statham, National Sales Manager at Phoenix Door Panels.

“She needed a supplier with the same

owner-managed business ethos and approach, which is exactly what she gets with Phoenix. The commitment and dedication to customer service, as well as consistency of supply, is working well for

Jayne and Haydon

both parties – we’re happy with her and she’s happy with us!”

With more than 13 years’ industry experience, Jayne decided to take the plunge to work for herself and established Paddock Door Panels in 2008. She said: “I like the independence of running my own business. Having built up my customer base over the past three years, offering a composite door range was a logical next step for me.”

Jayne added: “Knowing I can rely on Phoenix to fulfil the orders on time and intact means I can devote more time to visiting my customers and keeping in regular contact with them. People buy from people and that’s why this partnership really works.”

MARLON FS TO THE RESCUE!

Brett Martin came to the rescue of a dilapidated youth club in Liverpool by responding to a DIY SOS in aid of Children in Need.

The refurbishment of Norris Green Youth Centre was Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team’s biggest ever build to which Brett Martin donated Marlon FS Hard strike- resistant polycarbonate for the centre’s security windows.

The primetime BBC makeover programme aired its ‘Big Build’ to six million viewers as a Children in Need Special in November. The anti-vandal windows, manufactured by Brett Martin’s partner Crimeshield Manufacturing using Marlon FS Hard, hit the spot in more ways than one when presenter Nick Knowles

struck one with a baseball bat. Nick’s wrist came off worse, the window was undamaged.

Marlon FS Hard is a lightweight yet highly resilient polycarbonate. Two hundred times stronger than glass, it is virtually unbreakable, allows high light transmission and is abrasion resistant on both sides.

Nick Hughes, national sales manager for Brett Martin said: “Seeing the sheet being hit by a baseball bat really demonstrates Marlon FS Hard’s strength and durability, although it is subjected to much more rigorous testing than that! It is used extensively for security applications so the youth centre, which is unfortunately frequently vandalised, was a perfect application. We donated more than 50m2 of Marlon FS Hard, pre-cut to size, to

Crimeshield Manufacturing to produce the windows and hope the centre has many more safe and secure years ahead of it.”
