A collection of photographs of Woolwich, spanning over forty years, by the artist Carol Kenna, is on view at the Heritage Centre in Artilliery Square in the Royal Arsenal until 28 January.
The exhibition celebrates the Thames and the riverside, Woolwich architecture with its Art Deco gems, the people, fairs and festivals and records the passing of industries. In this new era of regeneration we see the rapid changes to General Gordon Square and Wellington Street, the expanse of demolition and the rise of the Woolwich Centre, phoenix-like from the rubble.
