Providing Care as it should be
provided through their retirement home, Nettlestead, or into their clients’ homes through their homecare service, the one thing that stands out is quality. As Sarah Bruce explained “some years ago now we decided to care solely for private clients. “Whereas most homes and domiciliary services have two price lists for exactly the same service, with State-funded clients paying substantially less than private clients, we have just the one fair price list. “We felt there was something fundamentally wrong about charging more but delivering less than clients have paid for, and this has meant we deliver a service that is second to none.” If you have time look at their website you will be pleasantly surprised. Where sometimes getting information from companies can seem like an insurmountable challenge, you will fi nd that Nightingales go out of their way to offer all the information and advice you could want, including their prices and price promise. It’s a refreshing change to fi nd a company that actually has thought through what its customers require, and

regulator no longer awards services a quality rating, but when they did both Nettlestead and Nightingales HomeCare were given the highest rating of Excellent. There is also something reassuring about a company whose employees choose to stay for a long time, Nick and Sarah are proud that a number of employees have been with them for 20 years; another sure sign of quality.
Apart from the standard of the décor at Nettlestead,
which is more like a small luxury hotel, it is also their emphasis on social activities that sets them apart. Clients can choose whether or not to participate, but the focus is always on quality, from complimentary sherry and wine through to personalised outings and activities.
This approach to quality resonates throughout the whole organisation. Recognising that choosing care is one of the
largest decisions we ever make, Nightingales offer all potential clients the chance to experience their care free of charge. And once a client, Nightingales terms state that if ever they are unhappy with the service provided they do not have to pay for it. Very few other care providers have the confi dence to make such an offer.
