All too easy, as the beat of the music helps you step up the exercise and it’s only when the music stops do you realise just how hard you have been working. So it's great to relax with a couple lengths of the pool before heading to the showers. Don’t worry about your hair as there are hairdryers and straightening irons so you can leave looking as you arrived just feeling refreshed and exhilarated – banish those winter blues! On a cold, grey day I couldn’t think of anything better than a ‘Winter Warmer’ Deluxe Spa Full Body Massage with natural unrefi ned shea butter, which I’m told will relax the body while stimulating tired muscles. All massage treatments at Re Generis Spa are carried out using only organic oils and based on Swedish massage techniques. But to start with a Chocolate Indulgence Facial, another in their range of winter warmers a gloriously naughty treat that has real benefi ts to the skin. Salon owner, Kamka explained how she creates every mask from the raw organic products and the properties of each ingredient. They all sound good enough to eat which means that they should not harm the skin in anyway. The main ingredient cocoa, is a powerful antioxidant, honey has properties known as humectants and is used to soften dry skin and to help rejuvenate the skin, which leads to less fi ne lines and wrinkles. Honey also contains alpha hydroxy acids, which help to gently exfoliate the skin. It is an ideal product for people with sensitive skin and is often used to combat the formation of spots. The smell of the chocolate also has a feel-good factor and the effects certainly moisturized my face and left it glowing.
The body massage followed, including deep kneading, gentle gliding strokes, and tapping, which improve the circulation and soothed the muscles the mix of oils leaving my skin smooth and very supple. The only downside is the urge to eat something chocolatety on the way home.
