READERS’ LETTERS: JANUARY 2012 FEEDBACK

SEND YOUR PRAISE, RANTS OR COMMENTS TO EDITORIAL@OUTMAG.CO.UK - ALL LETTERS PRINTED WIN A PRIZE…

album is my favourite of the year. I hope he releases ‘Lie Next To Me’ as the next single. Because I gladly would, Will! Andy, Edgeware

EXPENSIVE BOY

Bloody hell… is Boy George so hard up that he has to fleece his last few remaining fans by charging £499 for a big photo book of his life that he happens to have signed? Is that some sort of joke? As a sometime fan of Mr O’Dowd, I would love to flick through said book, but that’s looking unlikely as I don’t know anyone mad enough to part with that sort of money. Luke, Brighton

LETTER OF THE MONTH ADDICTED TO LOVE

I am just writing in response to the reader’s letter about the boyfriend who has a drug problem. I agree with some of your agony uncle’s advice, but from my own experience, unless your boyfriend himself wants to change his ways, he is very unlikely to do so. For whatever reason, he feels the need to numb himself with booze and drugs, and he sees nothing wrong with this. Giving him an ultimatum, or even ending the relationship, may give him pause for thought, but it is unlikely, on its own, to make him embrace a whole new lifestyle. I have had my own problems with drink, and have dated men who also had their own drink and drug problems. I can’t imagine that suggesting we “go for a walk” would have appealed to them over a bottle of wine at home or a trip to the pub. I don’t want to be negative, and I wish your correspondent well, but I really think he might want to re-consider his relationship. A, N15

X-CITED I WILL!

I can’t believe that Will Young is single! Rich, talented, famous and well fit! If Will can’t find a husband, what hope have mere mortals like myself? Maybe it’s just because he hasn’t met me yet! On a more serious note, thank you very much for the interview with him, which I found very interesting. I’ve been a huge fan of Will’s for the past ten years, and I thought your chat with him to be a particularly good read. His new

WRITE TO US AND WIN A DVD...

I think you were wrong to state that the current series of X Factor was limping towards its ‘oh-so-predictable conclusion’. I thought that it was difficult this year to predict who would win – and if you thought it easy, you should have put your money where your mouth is and said who you thought would win! I liked both Marcus Collins and Little Mix, and would have been happy if either had won. As it is, I look forward to hearing material from both of them. I do hope Marcus gets to release an album – we could do with a fresh, new, young gay pop star – and even though he was runner-up, I reckon he stands a better chance than Joe McElderry did of having a pop career.

Anyone who had a letter printed this month won a copy of new DVD Uncle David

Anyone who has a letter published in the January issue of Out In The City will win a copy of new DVD We Were Here – a moving and insightful documentary looking back at the arrival of AIDS epidemic in San Francisco in the early 80s. It’s out now via Peccadillo Pictures. The writer of February’s Star Latter will win a copy of Unhappy Birthday and Adele: Live at the Royal Albert Hall. A DVD/Blu Ray and CD package, it was recorded at the height of Adele’s most successful year to date, when she performed at the Royal Albert Hall in mid-2011. It features the full 90-minute concert, plus a behind-the-scenes documentary. Send letters to editorial@outmag.co.uk, and please include your name and address if you want to be in with a chance of winning a prize.
