Catholic church breaks ground St. Mary’s holding advent, Christmas services

Construction of St. Juan Diego Catholic Church is under way at the southwest corner of Queen Creek and Cooper roads. St. Juan Diego will be the second church in Chandler’s St. Mary’s Parish, and is part of the “One Parish Two Churches” program. “There is still a lot of growth in Chandler, and potentially 3,000 new families who will need a Catholic home,” says Rev. Daniel McBride, pastor of St. Mary’s. “The building of this second church is very important. We are doing our very best with nine masses every weekend, as well as trying to accommodate every sacramental life event that we possibly can for the

more than 4,700 registered St. Mary’s families.” McBride and Fr. Frederick Adamson, V.G., of the Diocese of Phoenix recently broke ground at a ceremony at the construction site.
