Passion becomes profession with facialist
Facials are available at Salon Orozco in Southern Chandler, with the addition of Lilia Kogan, an aesthetician with 28 years of experience.
When she was a child, Kogan says she loved to play with facials and masks, but never thought she would go into that field. She first
studied law in her home country of Russia, then immigrated to Israel, where she learned aesthetics in Tel Aviv before moving to Buffalo, NY. It was there she got her cosmetology license, between trips to Toronto, Canada to skin care conventions. “Facials were always my passion,” she says, “then they became my profession.” Now she offers a variety of facials, including European deep pore cleansing, for acne and anti-aging, a seaweed treatment and Japanese hot stone facial massage. She carries Babor products from Germany, and provides Babor signature facial treatments and custom facials.
Other techniques she uses includes microdermabrasion, photo-light therapy, herbal peels, a high frequency current treatment which she says “closes pores and kills bacteria” and waxing.
Appointments are available for Kogan from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays by calling Salon Orozco, 3125 S. Alma School Rd., Suite 4, at Queen Creek in Chandler at 480-821-0081. To speak to Kogan directly, call 480-558-4243.

Chandler Regional receives chest pain certification
In recognition of its increased efforts in educating, screening and treating patients with heart attack symptoms, Chandler Regional Medical Center was recently accredited by the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
Chandler Regional met strict guidelines based upon reducing the time from onset of symptoms to diagnosis and treatment; treating patients more quickly during the critical window of time; and monitoring patients when it is not certain that they are having a heart attack to ensure they are not sent home too quickly or needlessly admitted to the hospital.
“Taking a streamlined, targeted approach for the accurate, prompt diagnosis, treatment and care of a patient ultimately decreases (the) length of stay in the hospital, and provides better outcomes overall,” says Ahtisham Shakoor, medical director for the hospital’s Chest Pain Center. “We’re proud to provide high-quality, consistent medical practices that lead to our patients having an increased understanding of the risk factors contributing to heart attacks as well.”
In addition, Chandler Regional and its sister hospital, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, are the only hospitals in the Valley to offer HeartAware, a prevention-based education program to help patients combine a healthy lifestyle with early detection. Upon completing a confidential online assessment, those at risk can schedule a free in-person consultation with a cardiac clinician.
The Society of Chest Pain Centers is a nonprofit international organization dedicated to eliminating heart disease as the number one cause of death. To access the HeartAware online risk assessment, visit
