THE ever popular market town of Ross-on-Wye is pulling out all the stops to make the switching on of its Christmas lights and the countdown to Christmas an extra special event this year. "It's a line-up of festive fun to get the season off to a great start." said Cllr Caroline Utting. "The actual switch-on will take place at the Market House but various activities will be taking place
all over the town." The order of events for the light switch-on on Saturday 26th November is as follows: 3.30pm - 4.30pm - The tuneful Salvation Army Band in Broad Street. 4.45pm – 5.15pm - The melodic Ross Town Band under The Market House. 5.15pm - Torchlight Procession of Scouts from The Crofts to The Market House. 5.30pm - The Mayor, Cllr David Ravenscroft, switches on The Market House lights. 5.30pm - 6.15pm The lyrical “Splinter” (a band made up of staff from John Kyrle High School) plays modern numbers with a Christmas twist. To add extra sparkle to shopping in Ross-on-Wye shoppers can take part in a free to enter draw
with a total of £1,000 to be won to spend with participating shops. From Friday 17th November you will receive a free draw entry ticket every time you shop at premises displaying the Association of Ross Traders (ART) logo in their window. Four draws of £250 each will take place on a weekly basis starting Saturday 26th November. Full details, Terms & Conditions can be found on the Association of Ross Traders (ART) website at
