HEALTH AND BEAUTY FOR CHRISTMAS • HEA
I
t takes a lot to cope with all that’s going on during this season, but if there’s one time of the year when you really want to look your best, it’s Christmas. If you feel you look your best, your
confidence will grow and you’ll find you can cope with it all, simply because you do feel so good about yourself. There’s no simple explanation for this, but in nature, grooming is
an important part of all animals’ routine of daily living. In the animal kingdom, only the well groomed become successful and survive, so it is obviously a deep-rooted need that has nothing at all to do with vanity. So where do you start? You begin in the only place where you
cannot hide the truth, in the privacy of your own home, in front of the mirror before you dress. Be brutally honest. Take stock of what you see. Are there any
unnecessary bulges? Is your skin dull and lifeless? Does your hair resemble a hedgerow? Does your posture resemble a flower wilting in a vase? How about your feet, does the thought of pushing them into shoes make you wince in advance? Are your toe nails unfit to be seen? If the answer to any or all of these is “yes”, you had better get down to serious work to remedy the
situation before it gets out of hand. And the sooner you begin, the more likely it will be, you will have restored yourself to some semblance of your former beauty, in time for that Christmas Party. You can of course, assemble a programme yourself, at home and
get to work without further ado. Given the average person’s level of willpower, available time and specialist knowledge, you would probably be better advised to place yourself in the hands of relevant experts and be sure of getting the job well done. Bulges and excess weight can be honed down by a brisk course
of well planned exercises at your local health club. Don’t forget to get your doctor’s blessing first though. Your local beauty salon such as Beauty Care and Ross Health
and Beauty, will be able to formulate a routine that will improve your skin tone and quality. A course of facials, exfoliation, massage and a sauna perhaps, will all help matters along. If your feet are in trouble, see a chiropodist then back to your
beauty salon for a pedicure and manicure. A little regular attention will work wonders. Your hair of course will need treating. An expert cut, a new style, a course of tonic treatments, could all make a world of difference.
