Small Learning Communities Our college is based on amodel of small learning communities. Each student belongs to a distinct community.
The eight communities are organised as follows: • Cougar and Panther: learning communities for students in both Years 7 and 8
• Jaguar, Leopard and Puma: learning communities for students froma combination of Years 9, 10 and 11
• Lynx: a 20 place learning difficulties, sensory and physical impaired centre
• Serval: a 28 placeAutistic Disorder Centre (ASD). The students at this centre have beenASD diagnosed, with some having comorbidity needs (e.g. areas associated withASD) • APost 16 community
The creation of smaller organisations ensures that each individual student becomes a valuedmember of the community within a safe learning
environment.An interdisciplinary teamof teachers are assigned to each learning community. Each teamassumes responsibility for the total education needs of the students.
