Financial To be fi nancially strong: • to achieve an annual operating surplus. • to increase turnover from subscription, trading and sponsorship income.


• to minimise the working capital requirements for trading operations.


• to grow the accumulated fund to the equivalent of nine months’ administrative expenditure.


Young Drivers


Young Driver Dates T e Young Drivers have arranged the following dates for 2012: January 29: On Foot clinic open to all young drivers at the Unicorn Trust January – March: Regional Training (more details to follow)


April:Week commencing Monday 9: Easter Clinic April 15:Young Drivers Display at South of England Carriage Fair, Merrist Wood Arena, Guildford, Surrey July 11-15: Junior World Trophy Austria August 25-26:Young Drivers National Championships, Henbury T ese dates will be up on the website shortly along with a date for the summer camp.


Junior World Trophy 2012 T e JWT is to be held in Stadl Pura, Austria 11-15 July 2012. T e event is for young drivers aged 7-18 and will be run under ICKD rules. At this stage we have not received confi rmation from the organisers as to whether they will also run an FEI event along side, if they do, the age range will extend to 21 years. ICKD rules allow for a three-phase event specifi cally designed for children, with the marathon replaced by an arena based phase similar to a World Cup round, ie a combination of cones and obstacles. British Young Drivers are planning to send


a team of eight children to represent Great Britain and the selection events include BHDTA Summer Camp at Ashfi elds, and the Junior National Championships (both of which have already taken place), the Indoor Championships 2012 and BHDTA Easter Camp 2012. T ose wishing to be selected need to attend three out of four of these events. T e English team brought home the bronze


medal in 2008, now team GB hope to better this in 2012. Any sponsorship is welcome! If you require further information please email byd@horsedrivingtrials.co.uk.

Selection events T e following selection events for 2012 FEI World Championships are now confi rmed as follows: Single Horse:Ashfi elds, Hopetoun, Sandringham and Catton. Horse Four-in-hands: Ashfi elds, Drumlanrig, Sandringham and Catton. Selection events in 2012 for 2013 FEI World Championships are confi rmed as follows: Combined Ponies:Catton Horse Pairs: Erddig Remember that it is helpful, especially for


multiples, to achieve the required FEI qualifying scores before you start the selection process.
