Village President Peter N. Silvestri Elmwood Park

is a great place to live, play, dine and shop. We are fortunate to be a strong community with low crime rates, excellent emer- gency and public works services, a modern library, great schools

and a community friendly parks and rec- reation system. We are fortunate to have great restaurants, shops and businesses in our village.

We are proud of the new Caputos Su- perstore, the Elms Funeral Home and sev- eral new restaurants in our community. We are pleased to receive State funding, in addition to our local contribution, for a new park at 76” and Armitage Avenues and the Belmont Avenue Streetscape Beautification Program. We are also proud of various grants for police efforts,

health education efforts, environmentally beneficial lighting of North Avenue, and a “green” alley project. These projects enhance our village and the quality of life for our residents. (For more information on our community profile, village services, videos on the village, and current news go online to www.elmwoodpark.org. or on Facebook). Check it out or call us at the Village Hall: (708) 452-7300.

The greatest strength of our commu-

nity is the people who call this village our home today and in the future. Together we will keep Elmwood Park a great place to live. This administration’s commitment to our community’s future is exemplified in many ways:

• through the art, our library art exhib- its, our chorus and theatre groups and our concerts in the park. These efforts were recognized with an award from the Illinois Arts Council;

• through community events, such as the 4th of July Festival, Taste of Elmwood Park and the Holiday Lighting and Santa in the Park program in November;

• through aggressive and diligent police, health, fire and paramedic services to keep us safe, our public works and wa- ter departments to keep our water to our highest quality;

• through services and programs for our residents, especially our youth and se- nior citizens;

• by our commitment and support for our schools and library;

• by our commitment and cooperation with our churches, services and social organizations.

Elmwood Park is defined by its people

and how as a community we build a brighter future. As a community we can be proud.

Sincerely,

Peter N. Silvestri, Village President Cook County Commissioner
