that take place throughout the year directly from current students. Faculty, members of the Parents’ Club, and representatives from the Athletic Department also provide important perspectives on life at the Academy. Families with pre-kindergarten-aged children will want to be sure to see the Academy’s new Pre-K classroom and learn about this academically focused program and the screening process. The Math REACH Program, currently encompassing grades 4 through 7, enables students with advanced proficiency in mathematics to participate in a more rigorous experience. Assistant Principal Dr. Robert Murphy and REACH Instructor Mr. James Byrnes will be discussing its advantages and the progress they’ve seen in students to date. Working parents also will want to learn about the Extended Day Program for grades Pre-K through 6, which ensures parents that their children are safely cared for in an environment that offers academic support, arts and crafts and outdoor activities until 6 p.m. Middle school applicants will be able to sign-up for the Academy’s entrance exam and prospective students for incoming grades 1 through 8 can set up a convenient time to spend a day “shadowing” a current Academy student. While pre-registration is not required, those interested in attending are asked to complete the online registration form at
www.ndatyngsboro.org/elemopenhouse to enable the Admissions Office to plan ample tour guides and refreshments. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early enough to allow themselves time to take tours; view classroom displays; and discuss life at the Academy with students, faculty and parents! Questions regarding the admissions process should be directed to Mrs. Jocelyn Mendonsa, Director of Admissions, at (978) 649-7611, ext. 327, or
admissions@ndatyngsboro.org. The Academy welcomes students of all faiths. It has a culturally
diverse population comprised of students from approximately forty cities and towns throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire, as well as international students. The school also boasts of small class sizes and a rigorous academic program, including technology, world languages, art and music courses, and a strong physical education program, which prepare students for future achievement. In addition, students discover friendships, a sense of community and a spiritual foundation that will last a lifetime. For more information about the Academy, visit

The Academy of Notre Dame is a private, Catholic co-educational Pre-K-through grade 8 elementary and middle school and a college- preparatory high school for young women sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur and based upon the philosophy of their foundress, St. Julie Billiart.

maintaining a food pantry, assisting with rent and utility bills, and especially helping during the holidays by distributing food baskets and gifts to families in need. This year Pauline Boisvert, Director of the St. Vincent de Paul stated, “The need is overwhelming this year with many families seeking assistance for the Hudson community. This is the highest it’s ever been in many, many years. The assistance this auction has brought is definitely greatly appreciated and necessary to help aid these families, it’s been a very tough year for many.” More than 60 business members of the Greater Hudson Chamber of Commerce along with other local businesses donated wonderful items for the silent auction. Priscilla Clegg won the Champagne Glass with money and lottery tickets donated by Specialty Kitchens and Kathy Warren won the Jar of Money donated by Web Action Group. The auction held many chances to win for all those in attendance but most important offered local business members an opportunity to generously support the community. The evening was a success with the hard work on the many volunteers from the Chamber and
