Monday, December 19 The New Hampshire Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the members of the Hudson VFW, Ladies Auxiliary and Men’s Auxiliary cordially invite all Gold Star Families, Blue Star Families, veterans, their family members and the public to an Afternoon Tea with Texas First Lady Anita Perry. The Tea will be held at the Hudson VFW Post #5791, 15 Bockes Road, Hudson at 12:30 p.m., with Mrs. Perry arriving at 1 p.m. As a daughter and a wife of a Veteran and as the First Lady of Texas, Mrs. Perry will be speaking about her commitment to raising awareness on the needs of our Military Personnel and their families. She will also be speaking of the dedication her and her husband, 2012 GOP Presidential candidate, Governor Rick Perry share to providing the assistance and care that our Veterans have earned through loyalty and service to this great nation. Thursday, December 22 Former Boy Scouts, Leaders and Parents of Troop 21 are invited to attend the annual Troop 21 Holiday Party from 7-8:30 p.m., at the Wattannick Grange Hall on Route 111 in Hudson.
Now through December 25 Visit Boy Scout Troop 21 on Lowell Road where they are selling their Christmas trees and wreaths. The sale runs Monday to Friday, 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are trees for all of from quite small, to “way too large.” We have exactly what you need. The sale runs until they are out of trees, which is usually on Sunday, December 18.
Saturday, December 31 The town of Hudson will hold a Town Clean-up day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Town Clean-ups are held at the West Road Landfill on Old Landfill Road, Hudson, and are generally held on the last Saturday of the month. Acceptable items are: Demolition and Building Materials, Clean Sheetrock, Clean
Asphalt Shingles, Clean Wood, Brush, Leaves, Furniture, Rugs, Cardboard, Appliances, and Scrap Metal. Branches should be no greater than 5 inches in diameter. No freon appliances, TVs/CRTs (computer monitors), or household trash.
Tuesday, January 3 The Hudson Checklist Supervisors will be in session at the Town Hall from 7-7:30 p.m. This is the last chance to register for the NH Presidential Primary, which will be held on January 10. Residents are asked to avoid long lines at the polls by registering before hand. Voters may also register at the Town Clerks office during normal business hours until January 3, 2012.
Saturday, December 17 Join the Crazy Eights, an ensemble made up of students from the Alvirne High Jazz Band, for a Holiday Jazz Concert as they play holiday favorites and jazz standards at 1 p.m. at the Rodgers Memorial Library, 194 Derry Road, Hudson. Refreshments will be served.
Wednesday, December 21 Calling all fans of Anime, Manga, Manhwa! A new Anime/Manga Club is forming at the Rodgers Memorial Library in Hudson to meet up and share your enthusiasm. Come and chat about your favorite series and hear about new titles you might enjoy. Meetings may also include craft projects or watching episodes/movies from series both new and old. Anyone from Grade 6+ is welcome to attend. The club will meet the third Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m. The next meeting will be held on December 21.
Tuesday, December 27 – Friday, December 30 The Rodgers Memorial Library in Hudson will show free family movies at 1:30 p.m. during school vacation, from December 27-30. Come see these new family favorites on our big screen. Snacks will be served and you can bring your own comfy chairs if you like. The feature presentations are as follows: Tuesday, December 27 – Cars 2; Wednesday, December 28 – The Smurfs; Thursday, December 29 – Kung Fu Panda 2; and Friday, December 30 – Dolphin Tale.

In response to the great success of the autumn semi-formal dance, Campbell High School will be holding its first Annual Holly Ball semi-formal dance on December 17. A delicious Chinese food dinner will be served prior to the dance, from 6:30- 7 p.m. The dance will run from 7-10 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door for anyone who has not purchased them in advance. Pictures with Santa will be offered for a small fee. Attendees are asked to please bring their student ID, and guests will need to fill out paperwork the week prior to the dance. This dance is sponsored by the Campbell High School Student Council, SADD club, and members of the National Honor Society.
