Two bed Defoe House garden flat to let

through Hamilton Brooks at £675 a week

Hamptons continues to see increased demand for Barbican properties from the international as well as the London market, drawn towards the

superb location and all the amenities that the Barbican has to offer. We’re finding that although properties need to be priced accurately to sell, the overseas market is prepared to pay a premium for them, so expansive marketing is key to achieving a top price.” Glen Cook of Hamilton Brooks: “Yet again the market is now heading off in a different direction, we now find ourselves with the smallest number of Barbican flats for sale in the 23 years I have dealt with Barbican Sales, we even reached a point last week (the beginning of June) where every single Barbican re-sale was under offer, the

Lettings Ian Swale of Frank Harris quotes “we can achieve record levels of rent for virtually any flat in the Barbican currently” Glen Cook: “Rentals go from strength to strength, naturally if buyers are unable to buy, they rent instead, rents so far this year are probably up 15-20%, and with demand rising and supply short, this may climb to 30% by the end of the year.” Jack Davison at Scott City: “News that the City jobs market is recovering and pay is rising after the dark days of 2008 and 2009 is excellent news. A number of properties we have had available in the Barbican have been seen to go within a number of days of coming onto the market. We have seen a 10% continued rise, from the winter, in rental prices throughout the Barbican, proven by a small style studio in Breton House achieving £290 per week. As ever, all types of Barbican properties are urgently required
