ENTERPRISE 2000 Having exhausted all of the large national UK kitchen chains that measured, planned and produced several uninspiring designs, not to mention being bamboozled by their technical jargon, we were simply in despair… With many supposedly ‘50% off’ sales littering the market, we were sure that amongst all the brands at least one quote would come in at a reasonable price. However, to continuously be handed extortionate quotes, which in their eyes were deemed ‘cheap’, had caused us to nearly give up on the idea of having a new fi tted kitchen altogether. The joy of choosing a new kitchen was turning out to be a nightmare and frankly we were simply fed up of going around in circles.
Five kitchen companies later and we found ourselves, thankfully, at the door of Enterprise 2000, Swansea and in the very capable hands of Emma Reed. Enterprise 2000 offer two individual kitchen brands to suit all budgets including Gallery kitchens by Symphony and Caple kitchens, a Bristol-based company. We selected Gallery kitchens for a number of reasons including their 5-year guarantee, colour coordinated carcasses, rigid units with assembled doors, soft close hinges as standard, their curved end units and the option of a taller 900mm wall cabinet. In particular, we chose the Boston range in ivory, a gloss door that refl ected light around our smaller kitchen. From the initial measuring, design and planning, Emma’s professionalism reassured us throughout the process and she continually kept us ‘in the loop’ with updates.
She had an array of doors in a variety of colours and fi nishes that we were able to bring home to sample, which was a big help as the different lighting in-store and at home can make a big difference to the colour you end up fi nally choosing.
During the time of ordering our kitchen, a 25% off promotion was redeemable against Gallery kitchens, a rather simpler offer compared with the complicated ‘buy a kitchen and receive a free non-branded oven’ etc. from other national brands. Finally, we also purchased our Neff appliances with Emma whose prices were extremely competitive, even with the online market. If you know which appliances your after, Emma can calculate a discounted package price. The quick delivery time, two weeks for both the kitchen and appliances, was also another great benefi t and if you’re stuck for fi tters, Emma has a trusted team on hand who can deliver the quality fi nish you're after.
AMARIS Similarly, as with our kitchen, our experience of choosing an accompanying worktop was equally as pain free and simple at Amaris, Bridgend. Husband and wife team Chris and Amanda and staff were extremely helpful in aiding us with our selection; there were so many colours and surfaces to choose from! In the end, we fi nally selected quartz in the colour option, Blanco Stellar; a manmade stone featuring sparkly fragments of mirror that twinkle in the sunlight. Additionally, Amaris are a large supplier of granite, marble, Silestone and Zodiac Dupont, quartz stones, and they have also supplied and fi tted granite for Costa Coffee chains across the UK, Harvesters, David Lloyds, leisure centres and Odeon cinemas.
Their quotation was also very competitive shaving a whopping £500 of the nearest competitor, so it’s well worth a visit to their showroom.
To sum up, we would defi nitely recommend both the local independent businesses above to anyone who like us has had a rocky start to fi nding that dream kitchen.
