With an amazing array of entertainment on offer throughout January and February, a trip to Swansea Grand Theatre should be top of your New Year’s Resolutions list.


The magical pantomime adventure, Aladdin, with amazing 3D special effects, runs until 15th January. Starring Jimmy Osmond, Kevin Johns, Zöe George and Liam Doyle as Aladdin, who will share the stage with an unusual co-star as the Genie of the Lamp comes to life in amazing 3D.


Lots of laughs are in store for comedy fans with Jethro (18+), one of the funniest storytellers, on 18th January and multi-award-winning stand-up, TV and movie star, Omid Djalili (16+) returns with a brand new comedy show on 28th January. Sarah Millican (16+) is back on the road with a new show on 28th February (only returns available).


There’s a great mixture of music to suit all tastes. Killer Queen recreates the high energy that was Queen live on 20th January. Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era, with the Nick Ross Orchestra, recaptures the music of a bygone era on 21st January. The UK’s number one celebration of the life and works of an American legend, The Johnny Cash Road Show is on 25th January. Unforgettable, an authentic tribute to the musical icons of the 50s and 60s, including Elvis, Buddy Holly and many more is on 26th January. Don’t miss what Mick Fleetwood had called “An extraordinary performance” in Rumours of Fleetwood Mac on 1st February.


Homage is paid to the legendary performances of Guns ‘N’ Roses and Axl Rose’s unique vocals in the Guns ‘N’ Roses Experience on 2nd February. The Magic of the Beatles celebrates the Golden Anniversary of the super group on 13th February. The Billy Fury story, Halfway to Paradise, is on 15th February. The UK Pink Floyd Experience, with a state-of-the-art sound and a spectacular light show, is on 16th February. Little Belter is a brand new show created by Kylie Minogue’s


long-serving Musical Director, Steve Anderson, and stars critically acclaimed artist Elouise on 21st February.


Musical theatre lovers are in for a few treats. Back by overwhelming popular demand, Beyond the Barricade, recreating original West End and Broadway hits is on 27th January. Over the Rainbow, the award-winning musical which tells the life story of Eva Cassidy, is on 31st January. Celebrating its tenth year, The Sir Harry Secombe Trust presents an evening of musical theatre at its best in Curtain Up on 3rd February. Featuring some of the greatest hit songs of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era, the hugely popular musical, Dreamboats and Petticoats, is from 6th to 11th February.


After an immensely successful fi rst visit, Of Mice and Men, based on the novel by John Steinbeck, returns to the theatre on 20th February. A chilling thriller based on a short story by Charles Dickens, The Black Veil, is from 22nd to 25th February.


For our younger audience, half-term fun with the superstars of slapstick, Circus Hilarious, creating madness and mayhem on 14th February. Recently featured at Disneyland Paris, It’s Magic – High Jinx Road Show, starring Tricky TV’s Michael Jordan, is on 18th February.


The Circus of Horrors (16+) is back with a grand new show, The Ventriloquist, on 19th January. This is Groundswell, featuring award-winning contemporary dancers, is on 24th January. Combining the best of Music Hall with the great songs of the 40s, Pack Up Your Troubles is on 13th February. A stunning night of sophisticated tease, wonderful comedy, magic and music, featuring the UK’s fi nest artists of the genre, The Burlesque Show, with TV’s amazing magician, Paul Zenon, is on February 14th. See and hear young, local entertainers in The Best is Yet to Come on 17th February. Colin Fry, whose TV series, The 6ixth Sense, has been broadcast worldwide for more than ten years, is at the theatre on 29th February.
