What's On What’s On at Swansea Museum


Swansea Museum welcomes two new exhibitions in January to commemorate the centenary of two infamous Antarctic expeditions.


Opening 7 January, Cold Recall: Refl ections of a Polar Explorer, delves into Roald Amundsen's journey to become the fi rst person to reach the South Pole illustrating the challenges of Antarctic exploration in the early 20th Century.


Ninety Degrees South - Edgar Evans, Scott and the Journey to the Pole, Opening on 18 January, explores Captain Scott's ill-fated journey to the South Pole focusing on Petty Offi cer Edgar Evans who hailed from Swansea.


Geir Klover, Director of the Fram Museum in Oslo, will be presenting a talk on the Cold Recall exhibition on 19 January, 7.00pm.
