Last weekend, December 4th, Devon organised and ran a Junior low grade and Kyu grade points scoring championship at the Quayside Leisure Centre in Kingsbridge. It was a first time anything like this had been tried by the County but seemed to be very popular with the juniors as they were put together in groups of around the same weight which meant that most everyone got a medal. The senior Kyu players also benefited as there was no pressure of having to fight Dan grades to win a medal with the added bonus for the 1st Kyu’s of being able to score points towards a Dan grade. The entry was quite high but we were able to finish early enough enabling everyone to be away at a very reasonable time.
