Well Christmas is upon us and chance for a rest after the last couple of months.


Good results were had at the British championships for 10 and 11 year olds along with the main British championships. Bristol players won a total of 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze at the 10/11 year old championships along with 2 British champions, 3 bronzes and 2 fifth places at the 2011 British Championships, well done all those who fought.


Players from the County also attended the Heart of England, Welsh age bands, Scottish open and Irish open to fill a busy few months.


Unfortunately the Western Area teams never took place and have been postponed until January, where a clash of dates could cause many Counties to field more inexperienced teams.


This will be my last report as chair of Bristol County as due to increased work commitments I have decided not to make myself available to be nominated for the position in the forthcoming AGM, which takes place late January/early February. I have enjoyed my time as Chair and there is nothing to say I may not come onto the committee again in the future, but at this moment in time I just do not have the time to give 100% commitment to the role.


I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to all my committee for their help and support over the last two years and especially the players who are a brilliant bunch and it has been an honour to be Chair of such a great County.


I wish my successor and the County all the best.


Finally I would just like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, will see you all at the Western Area Teams 
