When asked about the current possibility of horse slaughter in the US for human
consumption overseas, London says, “I don’t understand those that have no emotions towards an animal’s well being. How can anyone participate in such a cruel act. Americans do not eat horses due to our love of them as companions, pets not for human consumption. Horses are so smart and intuitive. They know what’s coming. They can smell and taste the fear from the horses who were slaughtered before them. To think about horses and burros being stunted several times before they go down is evil and disgusting. The US should not support Mexico and Canada. Our Government is a joke. Where is justice?”
Growing up, London was fortunate to
vacation at some amazing resorts with her family, taking pictures of every- thing, especially landscaping and flowers. “I had a lot of photos I wanted to share but not in the tradi- tional way like a photo album or scrapbook.” London was intrigued by lighting design while at FIDM. “Lighting is everything. Lighting is what makes a space come alive. You can have a beautiful, vibrant interior but without lighting in a space, you feel nothing. Then a light bulb turned on”, laughs London, “and I had a great, innovative idea: why not combine photography and lighting together but in a classy way. I started my business, SUMMER LONDON DZIGNS LLC® and LIT LIFE® was born, a custom chandelier designed to customize the
client’s needs. SUMMER LONDON DZIGNS LLC® hopes to collaborate with charities and organizations to help inform others about a good cause. LIT LIFE® can be used in auctions and other events to help raise money and awareness.
