The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon’s popular preschool music group and stars of the hit TV series of the same name, will arrive in Mesa as part of their fi rst time ever on-the- road, 15-week, 50-city nationwide concert tour at 7 p.m. Fri., Feb. 3, 2012. The Fresh Beat Band debuted in 2009 on Nickelodeon and centers on four best friends – Kiki, Shout, Marina and Twist – in a band who love to sing and dance. Kids are introduced to the fundamentals of music such as melody, rhythm, tempo and performance styles.
In each episode, preschoolers sing and dance along as they help The Fresh Beat Band solve everyday challenges. The Fresh Beat Band will perform hits from all three seasons of the live-action music series.
Fresh Beat Band party packages, which include a meet and greet with The Fresh Beat Band are also be available for purchase.

Bear bears holiday heritage
Childhoods have been enriched by the tales of A.A. Milne’s anthropomorphic fl uff- stuffed bear for 85 years. Thanks to Valley Youth Theatre, 525 N. 1st St., “A Winnie the Pooh Christmas Tail” which is currently running through Dec. 23 has been brightening the holidays for Valley theatre goers for 16 years.
In this musical that celebrates friendship and loyalty, Christopher Robin and Piglet enlist the help of Pooh, Rabbit, Tigger, Owl, Kanga, Roo and all the other creatures of the 100 Acre Wood to hunt for Eeyore’s lost tail.
Based on stories by A. A. Milne, this show was written for the stage by James W. Rodgers. “A Winnie the Pooh Christmas Tail” has a talented cast of young people from the ages of 8 to 18.

Gray’s comic strip “Little Orphan Annie” follows the adventures of a spunky little depression era optimist determined to fi nd her real family. The musical features popular songs such as “Tomorrow,” “Little Girls “and “Never Fully Dressed.”
An added attraction for attendees is the transformation of the lobby of Desert Stages Theatre into the annual DST Holiday Boutique. An array of booths offer holiday shopping with art, clothing, interior design accessories, food items and more. Guests have the chance to complete their gift lists and support DST with every purchase while they wait for the show to begin.
